Sarah‘s passion for pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding began at an early age. The oldest of 5 children and raised in a close-knit, naturally-minded home, she would attend the prenatal appointments for her siblings, revel over her mother’s growing belly, and repeatedly watch the birth videos captured by her father on his home video camera. The seed had been planted.

During Sarah’s first pregnancy, she began to attend doula and midwifery workshops with The Farm Midwives and had the pleasure of learning from Ina May Gaskin. After Sarah’s first birth didn’t go as planned, her passion only grew. “I had my midwife and my doula by my side, supporting the choices I needed to make, celebrating my beautiful baby girl when she arrived, and patiently listening to me share my version of the birth story days later. I knew in those precious moments that I needed to support women and their families in this way.”

In 2003, Sarah attended the Natural Health Institute in Nashville, TN for massage therapy with a focus on Prenatal Massage and was also certified as an Infant Massage Instructor. She studied at The Matrona in Asheville, NC for certification as a Holistic Doula, completed her Yoga Teacher Certification through Sanctuary Yoga in Nashville, and is certified in Assisted Lymphatic Therapy.

Sarah does not believe in a “right way” to give birth and has attended both home and hospital births. Her goal is to walk with you as you navigate your own personal birth experience, empower you with information, provide physical and emotional comfort, and to whole-heartedly support YOUR personal choices!

Sarah is a wife and mother of five, ranging in ages from 5-21 years old. In her free time, she enjoys being in nature, cooking and baking, cake decorating, and planning events. Her greatest joys are her family, friends and serving others.
